Democracy International (DI) is seeking a qualified Senior Gender Expert for the Tanzania Mission Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Program (MELP). The MELP Program is a multiyear program designed to provide monitoring and evaluation and other relevant technical/advisory services to support USAID/Tanzania.
The Gender Expert will lead contractor support to USAID, stakeholders, and within MELP in all aspects of gender data collection and analysis to ensure that the overall emphasis of the CDCS on women’s empowerment is included in all monitoring, evaluation, and learning work.
- Undergraduate degree in international development, social science, women’s/gender studies, or a related field;
- 7 years of demonstrated experience (or 5 years of experience if the candidate has a graduate degree in one of the relevant fields) in gender assessments and gender mainstreaming for development programs;
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required, Kiswahili language skills desired.
This position will be based in Tanzania, ability to travel required.
