The National Trainer: Employability Skills and Career Guidance/Gender Officer will:

· Deliver counselling/mentoring sessions and assists students/graduates in career decision making

· Organise and implement employability skills training, including sessions on English communication skills

· Prepare students/graduates for internships and participation in the career fairs

· Be responsible for mainstreaming gender

Job Requirements:

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, psychology, pedagogy or other relevant field

· A minimum of 5 years training experience in English and soft skills and experience in counseling as well as private sector experience

· Excellent spoken and written English and Kiswahili is obligatory

· Experience working in the private sector

· Working experience in Tanzania or East Africa obligatory

· Right to live and work in Tanzania/East Africa

· Available to begin work on the 18th of March 2017

· Assist the process of skills gap identification amongst industry partners

Job Requirements:

· Minimum of a Master’s in social sciences, economics, education, pedagogy or other relevant field

· A minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in the field of TVET and curriculum development, as well as experience with the CBET approach and DACUM

· Work experience in the private sector

· Strong knowledge of Tanzanian educational and cultural context

· Excellent spoken and written English obligatory

· Working experience in Africa obligatory, preferably East Africa

We are recruiting for a skills programme, which aims to enable East African women, men and young people to gain employment and economic opportunities in resource-based industries and adjacent sectors. It will qualify vocational education and training (VET) students and graduates for jobs in the supply chain of upcoming natural resource investments and adjacent sectors, through the establishment of two career centers at public VET institutions and the provision of short technical courses according to the needs of the private sector.

Job Description:

The Team Leader will

· Provide advisory services to VETA on the establishment of career centres and/or curriculum development of short courses as well as sustainability of short courses and career centres

· Conduct capacity building measures on employment services

· Coordinate processes in regard to industry partners on identification of skills needs and set up of cooperation for short courses

· Carry out project management functions such as:

§ Undertake funds management and financial planning in consultation with the responsible officers

§ Act as a contact person for the programme as well as production of regular reports

§ Coordinate stages of the project with key stakeholders and ensure transparency for the partner

§ Coordinate the organisation/running of training measures

§ Ensure project administration is in place

§ Monitor and document work progress

§ Ensure a monitoring and evaluation system is in place and fully integrated into programme delivery

Requirements

§ Minimum of a Master’s in social sciences, economics, education, engineering or other relevant field

§ Minimum of 10 years professional experience in the field of capacity building for TVET or employment promotion

§ Experience in human resources managing

§ Experience in working with the private sector

§ Project management and monitoring and evaluation experience in development cooperation

§ Experience in leading intercultural teams

§ Working experience in Africa obligatory, preferably East Africa

§ Excellent spoken and written English is obligatory

§ Driving license category B

§ Must be available to begin work on the 18th of March 2018
