Head of Digital – Tigo Tanzania

To lead the transformation of the local operation into a true digital lifestyle company. As Africa converges on digital, leapfrogging traditional or analogue channels, barriers that have separated supply chains and industries until now continue to fall. The emergence of strong (Over-The-Top) OTT players, innovations such as mobile financial services (MFS), Long-Term Evolution (LTE) broadband, require a shift in the way we do business. Tigo Tanzania needs an individual experienced in this digital ecosystem to take charge and lead the company into the forefront of the technological frontier

Key Responsibilities

Planning
• Analyse and direct customer and market research analytics for objective decision-making

• Develop and implement a detailed Country digital strategy roadmap for all progams (social, mobile, web, video, audio etc) that includes digital KPIs for use in ongoing performance measure

• Prepare and report on delegated budget

• Develop and deploy digital policies, procedures and guidelines to govern activities in accordance with company and customer requirements

Implementation
• Expand the portfolio of digital products/services available to customers, and increase penetration and profitability of this portfolio

• Develop local and regional business and partner relationships to manage product development and risk

• Interface with multiple internal business units to align customer business objectives, technical and infrastructure requirements, and marketing campaigns

• Manage projects and staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising KPI performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems

Performance Measurement
• Measure and report regularly on the impact of digital programs both stand-alone (traffic, conversion, engagement, fans, investments), and on other relevant metrics such as brand equity, EBITDA, ARPU

• Share digital best practices amongst relevant stakeholders, including regional and counterpart market teams

Position Requirements

• University degree in business management or marketing (MBA advantageous)

• 5 years minimum working within a Digital role, preferably within telecommunications or media/entertainment

• 3 years minimum within a management level position

• Product management and online marketing experience required

• Strong local knowledge is advantageous

• Experience in running a digital transformation program in an organization is an advantage.

• An understanding of the music and/or entertainment industry is an advantage.
